The term intumescent systems is commonly used as this protection generally includes several superimposed products:

For metal structures: |
|
For flammable and fire-inert materials: |
| |
Anti-rust bonding primer
Intumescent undercoat
Paint finish |

Intumescent undercoat
Varnish or paint finish |
Why choose this fireproofing method?
These are certified and durable interior and/or sheltered exterior protections depending on the systems, as the classifications achieved are guaranteed by fire resistance certification reports and are not limited in time (unless otherwise specified in the reports).
In terms of fire resistance, unlike most other protection systems, intumescent paints do not alter the outer dimensions of metal structures and preserve the frame without increasing its weight significantly.
These are aesthetically attractive solutions as the paint systems offer a broad range of bright or pastel colour finishes (RAL shades for example), easily implemented.
In terms of reaction to fire, intumescent coatings combine efficiency and aesthetics: Colourless and transparent varnish systems or opaque and tinted paints are adapted to the materials to be protected. They make it possible to improve the reaction to fire of the materials used in new constructions as well as renovation sites.
